On-Line: DNSA Service Support Programs + Policies
with Rich Nawrocki
Class Level 1 (Teams Meeting)
Review our service-related, web-based systems and how to use them. MT Manual, CSTip, Servicepad, GPES, and our Dealer Portal. Go over DNSA’s warranty policy and guidelines. Go over our installation and quality feedback reports. How to contact our service department for support. Things of this nature will be presented in this class.
This is a General Class (GC)
This is a half day online class, Microsoft Teams is needed for this class.
On-Site: ATC + Control
with Rich Nawrocki
Course Level 2 (In-Person)
The class is a full tear down and rebuild of the ATC assembly and magazine for a DNM series type, along with in-class instruction and training for how it applies to other machines. Go over the concept of aligning the machine components to the ATC unit. How to check/adjust spindle orientation, tool change position (set 2nd reference position), discuss how the control keeps track of the tooling with the data table and how to adjust the timing of the unit. Upon completion, the student should be able to easily take apart, rebuild, realign, reassemble, and re-program any applicable component of a magazine or ATC cam arm, as well as how it relates to the machine’s spindle.
This is a Machining Center Class (MC)
This is a 2 day class, in person @ our CTC
Day 1 = 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.
Day 2 = 9 A.M. to TBD
On-Site: Turret Rebuild with Live Tooling
with Rich Nawrocki
Class Level 2 (In-Person)
The class is a full tear down and rebuild of the Tool Post assembly and removal of the Live-Tool for a Puma series servo turret (covers both front and rear mount live tooling units), along with in-class instruction/training for how it applies to other machines. Also will go over the theroy of hydraulic turrets. Upon completion the student should be able to easily take apart, rebuild, realign, reassemble, and re-program any applicable component of a Live-Tool or Tool Post, as well as how it relates to the machine’s geometry.
This is a Turning Center Class (TC)
This is a 2 day class, in person @ our CTC
Day 1 = 9 A.M. to 4 P.M
Day 2 = 9 A.M. to TBD
On-Line: SMX Maintenance
with Rich Nawrocki
Class Level 4 (Teams Meeting)
This class goes over how to remove and install the milling spindle on a SMX. Then how to set up the orientation of this spindle as well. Also goes over how to remove and rebuild the B-Axis rotary unit on the machine and explains in depth the ATC unit on the machine. How to set the positions both mechanically and electronically.
This is a Multi-Tasking Machine Class (MT)
This is a half day online class, Microsoft Teams is needed for this class.
On-Site: DVF 5-Axis Rotary Table Rebuild with Kinematics
with Rich Nawrocki
Class Level 4 (In-Person)
Disassemble the Rotary Table (B+C Axis on DVF 5000). Go over proper techniques for disassembly. How to take apart the gearboxes for both the 4th + 5th axis and how to properly set the backlash in this system. Go over how to set the rotary table correctly into the machine and how to properly do the mechanical alignments in the machine. Also go over how to re-set the reference positions, how to calibrate the probe, and how to run our kinematics cycle. Go over the proper steps from start to finish how to set the geometry on the machine for accurate 5-axis machining.
This is a 5-Axis Class (5A)
This is a 2 day class, in person @ our CTC
Day 1 = 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.
Day 2 = 9 A.M. to TBD
On-Site: Comprehensive Mechanical + Electrical
with Rich Nawrocki
Class Level 1 (In-Person)
This program is a combination of both comprehensive mechanical and comprehensive electrical trainings. The first two days will cover the mechanical area, followed by the third day, during which the instructor will go over the electrical training material. The main topics covered during the first two days will cover the following: how to calibrate levels, set levels on the machine, read moving levels, check square, test bar, and all geometry in the blue book. Review the information covered in the Manuals that are provided with the machine. Learn different hydraulics symbols, show different types of service tools, etc. Get hand on experience on how to reset the machine’s home position and perform ATC alignment, Spindle Orientation, and ATC Recovery.
On the last day of this training program, students will learn about the electrical layout of the machine. Go over detailed information on the hardware (E-Box, OP-Box, NC unit, power, and control line) and the software (how Ladder, timer, counter, keep Relay, and data table are used). Learn the proper use of Electrical Schematics. Learn how to check the status of the electric devices (Sensors, Relays, Switches, and Solenoid Valves) and perform a sample alarm diagnosis. Discuss how to diagnose alarms in Ladder, how to upload and download Ladder and how to perform All Data Backup.

Day 2 = 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.
Day 3 = 9 A.M. to TBD
On-Site: HMC Rotary Table Rebuild
with Rich Nawrocki
Class Level 3 (In-Person)
Disassemble the index table, go over the Curvic coupling structure and how it differs from the clamping plate. Adjust the backlash in the gears and go over the hydraulic manifold. Disassemble the full rotary table. Go over the concept of the hydraulic clamp on how to measure/set the proper gap for operation. Go over checking the backlash on the system and how to reinstall all the components.
