Class Level 1 (In-Person)

This program is a combination of both comprehensive mechanical and comprehensive electrical trainings. The first two days will cover the mechanical area, followed by the third day, during which the instructor will go over the electrical training material. The main topics covered during the first two days will cover the following: how to calibrate levels, set levels on the machine, read moving levels, check square, test bar, and all geometry in the blue book. Review the information covered in the Manuals that are provided with the machine. Learn different hydraulics symbols, show different types of service tools, etc. Get hand on experience on how to reset the machine’s home position and perform ATC alignment, Spindle Orientation, and ATC Recovery.

On the last day of this training program, students will learn about the electrical layout of the machine. Go over detailed information on the hardware (E-Box, OP-Box, NC unit, power, and control line) and the software (how Ladder, timer, counter, keep Relay, and data table are used). Learn the proper use of Electrical Schematics. Learn how to check the status of the electric devices (Sensors, Relays, Switches, and Solenoid Valves) and perform a sample alarm diagnosis. Discuss how to diagnose alarms in Ladder, how to upload and download Ladder and how to perform All Data Backup.

This is a General Class (GC)

This class will go over fully removing and reinstalling a spindle on a actual DVF 5000. Fully dissemble and pull the spindle cartridge from the headstock. Go over the concept of measuring and adjusting the endcap gap, BZi sensor, LVDT sensor, pusher gap, and rotary union. Also talk about the drawbar, how to check clamp force, drawbar stroke, tool kick-out, and retention stroke.  Spindle Assembly. Practical: How to properly break in a spindle, and how to use a spindle balancer to balance the spindle (while it is in the machine).
