Class Level 4 (In Person)
Machine overview. Description of the major components and their purpose. leveling the machine (Introduce the concept of level calibration, placement, and use). Machine Alignments: (Main/Sub Spindle, B-Axis, and lower Turret). How to set the reference positions. ATC alignments/adjustments. How to exchange a magazine pocket, how to remove and install the ATC swing arm, how to set the tool change position (2nd reference), how to set spindle orientation, and how to recover the tool changer. Rebuild the B-Axis RGC unit. Disassemble and reassemble this unit. Check the rotational gap, adjust the cross roller bearing run-out.

On-Site: Multi-Tasking Milling Spindle Exchange
with Rich Nawrocki
Class Level 4 (In-Person)
Milling spindle disassembly and reassembly. How to check the Pusher Gap, Introduce the Rotary Union, Clamp/LVDT Sensor theory, what a BZi sensor is and how to adjust it, and all about the drawbar information (Clamp Force, Kick-Out, and Drawbar Stroke). Review how to break in the spindle, how to balance the spindle, and how to use the ATC system (alignment, spindle orient, and recovery).
